A Return To Babel
August 15, 2011
After the water of the Genesis flood subsided, God told Noah to, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth.” Within a few hundred years, mankind was building a city and tower in defiance of God’s command, rather than trusting in His sovereign control over the planet. Today, “save the planet” movements such as the global warming thriller, “An Inconvenient Truth” or Earth Day celebrations, hearken back to the early, post-flood days of Nimrod and the Tower of Babel through their “self-preservation” philosophies.Rooting Our Children in Genesis
August 10, 2011
As Christian parents, educators and mentors, we want our children to hear the gospel message, understand the meaning of the cross and be transformed by the truths in its proclamation, but as leaders of this upcoming generation, we have failed mightily to root this message in genuine history of the world as found in the early chapters of Genesis.
We have turned our noses up at the book of Genesis because...
End of Time?
May 20, 2011
Tomorrow (May 21) is supposed to be the day the world comes to an end; I am skeptical about its reality. However, one thing I am certain about is the fact that “one day” the end will come to us all. This fact is cannot be escaped and in many respects, this time should be longed for.
Recent earthquakes and tsunamis in Japan have stirred people’s thoughts about signs of the end, but I prefer to look at these events as...
Why Should We Emphasize the Idea of “One Blood” in Our Society Today?
December 27, 2010
It is not uncommon to hear reports of prejudice against people of differing skin colors these days. Events like these, can serve as reminders of the division and separation still existing in the world today. This sin of oppression is clearly illustrated in current events and through historic reminders of our nation’s past. Even now, we are still a people divided by our skin color; but why...?If Noah’s Ark Were Found Today, Would It Change People’s Opinion About the Bible?
December 20, 2010
It is not likely people would change the way they view the Bible. However, it could serrve as a great encouragement to Christians. If such proof were possible to attain, it would reinforce the belief in a real Noah's ark and greatly encourage those who were somewhat skeptical. A person who had already rejected the Bible would likely not be swayed by any such evidence.
Evolution: Science or Religious Worldview?
August 30, 2010
Since the publication of Charles Darwin's "Origin of Species", man has battled with the theory of evolution. Its clear opposition to the teaching of scripture creates much frustration among Christians and non-Christians alike. If we will be absolutely honest with ourselves, understanding the origin of man or any other form of life is not within the realm of science. Science has limitations: it must be observed, tested and repeatable. If a scientist performs an experiment in the United States, in order for it to be valid, then a different scientist on the other side of the world should be able to perform the same experiment. The beginning of the universe or the origin of life is not observable, testable or repeatable and therefore our understanding of these things cannot be supported by scientific theory alone.
The origin of the universe and of life requires us to look to an eyewitness or a trusted written document. As the Creator of everything, God is that eyewitness and the Bible is that written word upon which the beginning of everything can be known. This is not an attempt to push my religious views upon you...
T Rex, 65 Million Years Old? The Evidence Says No!
August 16, 2010
Dinosaurs are certainly very mysterious, but when viewed through a Biblcial worldview things clear up quickly. The commonly held position for years is that dinosaurs died out over 65 million years ago, however, a basic study and understanding of the Bible will show...Tyrannosaurus Rex, Fernbank Museum in Atlanta, GA
Dragons or Dinosaurs?
July 18, 2010
There is a new DVD out now that makes a very convincing case for dragons being dinosaurs. If this is the case, then we are looking at a very strong piece of evidence that dinosaurs and man actually lived together and they were not separated by 65 million years of earth's history. Dragon myths are as recent as the 1500's when knights such as King George went out to kill dragons. Take a moment to watch a preview of the video and let me know what you think.
