Let the waters under the heavens be gathered into one place, and let the dry land appear. - Genesis 1:9

About Tommy

Hello, my name is Tommy Lohman, I am founder of Creation Connection Ministries. CCM is a creation apologetics ministry. Apologetics is not saying you are sorry, but giving a reasoned defence. CCM seeks to do just that; in the words of the apostle Peter, "in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect." 1 Peter 3:15 It is our desire to glorify God by proclaiming the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ by defending a literal, historic Genesis.

After many years of study and growing, God stirred my heart and I saw the need to teach the things He had been showing me so as to strengthen and encourage Christians; so, in the fall of 2007, CCM was born. In some respects, God has been preparing me for this type of a ministry ever since I was a little boy playing with my dinosaur toys. Sadly, many Christians are in bondage to the "old earth. evolutionary" teaching of our culture. Naturalism, humanism and evolution all swing the door open wide to millions of years of earth's history and unseen, unprovable forces of evolution driving life and complexity ever forward. All the while; systems are running to disorder and chaos is becoming more apparent everyday.

Sadly, even within the church, many seek to distort the history of Genesis with acceptance of millions of years of earth's history and evolution, in doing so, damage is done to the foundation of Genesis. Compromise and apathy about the strength and truth of the Bible grows quietly, but quickly. As one man, I am flesh and blood, but as a servant of God, I become a mouth-piece for Jesus Christ, in His strength I desire to be a defender of the truth of the Bible and the gospel message. The attacks at the Bible's foundation will be met through this ministry.

Let me share a few things about my service in the kingdom so far. In 1984, I was ordained a deacon in the Southern Baptist denomination; in 2007, I concluded four-years of service as a bi-vocational Minister of Education at First Baptist Church in Greenbrier, TN. Currently, I am attending Community Bible Church in Nashville, TN.

Tommy LohmanAs far as my education, I have an associate’s degree from Nashville State Technical Institute in Civil Engineering and I am currently attending Liberty University were I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Religion. I have also received certificates from the Answers In Genesis online courses in Foundations in Creation Apologetics and Creation Apologetics and the Bible. Also, I am currently an online instructor for the Answers In Genesis self-paced course. The book of Genesis has been a passion of mine for over 18 years now, I have studied at length the theological, scientific and philosophical aspects of the first eleven chapters of the book of Genesis.

In what has been an odd turn in my life, I am beginning to plum the depths of the gospel finally. Paul's words to the churches of Galatia ring in my head, "O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you?...Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?" Galatians 3:1-3 The sarcasm is rich, yet the question remains. Having attempted for many years to be perfected in my own strength, our merciful God is showing me more of Himself and all He has done. Genesis should be a reminder to all of us that God is the sovereign Creator with a desire to fellowship with His children.

Genesis points out that we are all hopelessly depraved sinners and deserving of death and yet a merciful God has made a way for man to be righteous in His sight. In Genesis 3:15, God prophesied of One who would come and become the atonement for our sins, Jesus Christ. In Jesus, we can have hope in an eternal future in heaven, I pray you will consider all that He has done for you. Send me an email sometime, we'll chat and I look foward to telling you more about the One who gives life.
